            Baseball Recap: Gibson Southern Titans vs. Evansville North Huskies        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Mt. Vernon  on Thursday, Gibson Southern came back down to earth. The Titans fell just short of the Evansville North Huskies by a score of  3-2 on Monday. The Titans have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
 Cam Truxal was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time he's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side, Gibson Southern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Zach Foster, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.  Grant Stinson also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Gibson Southern suffered their first road  defeat, dropping their record down to 7-2. As for Evansville North, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record  this season.
 Gibson Southern and Evansville North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Titans (ranked 24th) will meet South Spencer (ranked 114th)  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile,  Evansville North will  challenge  Evansville Harrison  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday with a big rank  advantage  (35 vs. 225).
