Volleyball Recap: Baldwin Park Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Azusa, Baldwin Park was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Duarte Falcons 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Braves: when they faced off against the Falcons back in September, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

Baldwin Park wouldn't go down easily and took Duarte into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-15, 25-21, 18-25, 15-13.

Baldwin Park's offense was headlined by Amanece Bretado and Karen Moreno, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Mya Martinez and her 30 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Edlynn Flores, each putting up six.

Baldwin Park's record now sits at 7-14-1. As for Duarte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Baldwin Park will challenge Sierra Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Duarte, they will take on Azusa at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Aztecs will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
