Football Recap: Riverton Piles Up the Points Against Copper Hills

Riverton was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Copper Hills on Friday. The Silverwolves breezed past the Grizzlies to the tune of 47-14. The Silverwolves haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Riverton was led to victory by Rocky Downs and Austin Morris. Downs gained 139 total yards and two touchdowns, while Morris threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes.

Riverton's run defense was locked in: Copper Hills could only muster 2.6 yards per carry. The Silverwolves didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.5.

Although Copper Hills took the loss, they still got scores from Tija Tate and Logan Batt.

Riverton's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Copper Hills, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After each having a week off, Riverton and Mountain Ridge will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. on the 31st. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Xander Thayer and Jaxon Hunt. As for Copper Hills, they will head out to square off against Skyridge at 4:00 p.m. on the 31st. The Grizzlies' defense better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 42.2 points per game this season.
