AAAA Region III recap September 10, 2013
York and Boiling Springs played the closest game in AAAA Region III this week, with York eventually emerging with a 46-45 victory.
Northwestern took down South Aiken 65-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Nation Ford's dynamic duo of Dalton Helms and Brandon Cureton proved tough for Lugoff-Elgin to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Helms threw for 335 yards and 3 touchdowns and Cureton had 144 yards receiving. Riley Hilton helped Nation Ford's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 97 yards.
The Falcons' dynamic duo of Helms and Cureton proved to be unstoppable against the Demons, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Cureton was the best receiver in the league this week as Nation Ford topped Lugoff-Elgin.
Helms put up the best numbers through the air as Michael Allen's team bested Scott Jones' team.
Davonta Blake was the best running back in the league this week. In 8 carries, he ran for 112 yards as South Pointe topped the Demons. Teammate Josh Brice added to the ground attack by rushing for 105 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Anthony Johnson. The South Pointe star has 14 catches for 446 yards.
Rock Hill made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,475 from 2,398. The improvement was the result of 36-16 victory over Conway last week.
