Baseball Recap: Old Lyme Takes a Loss

Old Lyme was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 12-6 to the North Branford Thunderbirds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Old Lyme's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for North Branford, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coming up, Old Lyme will be playing in front of their home fans against East Hampton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bellringers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Branford, they will face off against Portland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunderbirds are facing the Highlanders at the right time seeing as the Highlanders are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
