Softball Recap: Harlem Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Harlem ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Belvidere Bucs by a score of 5-2. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Bucs: they've now won six in a row.

Rylie Adams spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Megan Christensen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Harlem hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Harlem pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Belvidere, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
