Softball Game Preview: Newark Catholic Green Wave vs. Newark Wildcats

The Newark Catholic Green Wave will venture away from home to challenge the Newark Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Newark took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Newark Catholic, who comes in off a win.

Newark Catholic proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 16) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Ridgewood 3-2.

Newark Catholic's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aly Rothweiler (2026), who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Newark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 4-1 to Olentangy Liberty.

Newark's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Newark Catholic, their record now sits at 8-13.
