Basketball Recap: Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine can now relate to. They fell just short of the Fort Benton Longhorns by a score of 54-52 on Friday. Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Fort Benton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kellan Diekhans led the charge by shooting 50% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. The game was Diekhans' fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Truman Giese, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.

Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Fort Benton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
