Basketball Recap: Hickory Ridge Comes Up Short

Hickory Ridge was the 64-54 winner over West Cabarrus when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls took a 69-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Cabarrus Wolverines. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), the Ragin' Bulls still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Hickory Ridge and nudges their season record down to 9-11. As for West Cabarrus, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.

Hickory Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hickory Ridge is facing South Iredell at the right time seeing as South Iredell is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for West Cabarrus, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Lake Norman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Norman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 contests -- so hopefully West Cabarrus likes a good challenge.
