Basketball Game Preview: Prairie View Thunderhawks vs. Legacy Lightning

Prairie View hasn't had much luck against Legacy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Prairie View Thunderhawks will be playing at home against the Legacy Lightning at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.

Prairie View is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by an 85-65 margin over Wheat Ridge on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Thunderhawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Legacy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 52-23. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-6.

Prairie View better focus on containing Ari Harpring and Jaedon Ward as the pair were huge in Legacy's win. Harpring went 6 of 8 en route to 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Ward went 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points. Matthew Allshouse was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Legacy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centaurus only posted six assists.

Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Prairie View, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
