Softball Preview: West Central Trojans vs. Argos Dragons

The West Central Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Argos Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. West Central is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.

West Central can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 17-3 margin over Faith Christian. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for West Central considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Jalie Glasford made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Glasford was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with six RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, West Central let Mara Sharpe and Annika Smith loose on the outfield. Sharpe went 4-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Smith went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Lilly Wireman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Argos' offense. They fell just short of South Bend Clay by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, Argos' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

West Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Argos, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
