Recap: Brookwood Panthers vs. Bessemer City Tigers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sipsey Valley, the Brookwood Panthers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bessemer City 51-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Brookwood also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Brookwood had a senior duo take command as Dayton Dixon scored 13 points and Ethan Boyd scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of KaWann Johnson, who scored six points.
Brookwood's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16. As for Bessemer City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Brookwood will look to defend their home court on Friday against McAdory at 7:30 p.m. McAdory is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Bessemer City, they will head out on the road to face off against Hueytown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hueytown's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
