Baseball Recap: Sayre Comes Up Short

Sayre managed to slip by Athens the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Redskins lost 8-1 to the Wildcats on Thursday. The defeat leaves the Redskins still looking for their first win of the season.

Sayre saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karter Green, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Riley McGaughey also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Sayre's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Athens, the win keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sayre will square off against Sullivan County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Athens, they will challenge Milton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
