Basketball Recap: Dunnellon Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Dunnellon and Eastside squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Dunnellon had to settle for second. They took a 52-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastside Rams. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Eastside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laquan Prunty, who posted ten points. The dominant performance gave Prunty a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Calleja, who had seven points and five rebounds.

Dunnellon has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Eastside, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-18.

Dunnellon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastside, they will square off against North Marion on Wednesday.
