Softball Recap: Grantsville Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Grantsville dropped their record down to 20-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Bear River Bears by a score of 5-4. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Kira Hart made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As for Bear River, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games.

On Bear River's side, Kate Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. Wilson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luci Roche and Bella Dougals did most of the damage at the plate: Roche went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Dougals went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Marley Tisdol, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

As of now, neither Grantsville nor Bear River have any future games scheduled.
