Basketball Recap: Grafton Triumphs

In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Grafton Bearcats made off with a 29-28 win over the Charleston Catholic Irish. The 29-point effort marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grafton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenna Keener, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 16 boards. Keener is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. Natalie Beltner was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

The victory got Grafton back to even at 4-4. As for Charleston Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Grafton has already played their next game, a 41-32 win against Lincoln on the 2nd. As for Charleston Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-47 defeat against James Monroe on the 31st.
