Greenwood is 9-1 against Monahans since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Greenwood Rangers will host the Monahans Loboes at 6:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Greenwood is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Seminole just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Indians 57-30. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Indians are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, Monahans came up short against Fort Stockton on Tuesday and fell 47-39. The Loboes haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Greenwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8. As for Monahans, their loss dropped their record down to 11-16.

Greenwood took their win against Monahans in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 51-28. Will Greenwood repeat their success, or does Monahans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
