Hillside is 0-10 against Jordan since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hornets are taking a road trip to take on the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hillside barely beat Southeast Raleigh the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets blew past the Bulldogs 19-4 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Tierney Bailey made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That hit marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Maliya Blandford was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaylin Robinson, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Hillside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Jordan hadn't done well against Green Hope recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Jordan put the hurt on Green Hope with a sharp 13-5 victory. Winning may never get old, but Jordan sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Jordan let Kylie Specht and Sydney Cornwell run wild. Specht went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Cornwell went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Cornwell has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Lucia Terruso was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
Jordan pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Hillside, their record is now 6-4.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hillside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .593. However, it's not like Jordan struggles in that department as they've averaged .507. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hillside suffered a grim 20-4 defeat to Jordan in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
