Basketball Recap: Franklin Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Zaeda Beadle and Shannon Kingsbury

Franklin Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 54-29 to the Schenevus Central Dragons. The Purple Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.

Franklin Central's loss came despite strong showings from Shannon Kingsbury and Zaeda Beadle. Kingsbury posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Beadle scored four points in addition to 13 boards and three steals. Kingsbury is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 30 games she's played dating back to last season.

Even though they lost, Franklin Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Franklin Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Schenevus Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Franklin Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Schenevus Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Roxbury Central at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
