Baseball Game Preview: San Pasqual Golden Eagles vs. Mission Hills Grizzlies

The San Pasqual Golden Eagles will take on the Mission Hills Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for San Pasqual and four for Mission Hills.

San Pasqual couldn't beat Del Norte on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fifth inning. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Nighthawks by a score of 6-5.

Meanwhile, Mission Hills didn't have quite enough to beat El Camino on Saturday and fell 8-7. That's two games in a row now that the Grizzlies have lost by just one run.

Micah Mecucci made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Mission Hills' success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 4-1 (and 6-15 when he doesn't). Dominic Davis was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Mission Hills' loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for San Pasqual, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

San Pasqual skirted past Mission Hills 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
