Basketball Preview: DePaul Cristo Rey vs. Gamble Montessori Gators
DePaul Cristo Rey is 0-7 against the Gators since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. DePaul Cristo Rey will look to defend their home court against the Gamble Montessori Gators at 6:00 p.m. DePaul Cristo Rey will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, DePaul Cristo Rey didn't have too much trouble with the Lions at home as they won 35-18.
DePaul Cristo Rey got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nyeemah Pickens out in front who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Pickens hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jazmin Tubbs, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, Gamble Montessori was beaten by the Indians 65-35 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Gamble Montessori can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 486th, while the Indians are ranked 143rd).
DePaul Cristo Rey has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Gamble Montessori, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.
