Baseball Recap: Charles City Comes Up Short

Charles City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Hampton Chickasaws. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Comets have suffered since June 6th.

Charles City's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for New Hampton, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Looking ahead, Charles City will be playing at home against Turkey Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Hampton, they will venture away from home to challenge Waverly-Shell Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
