Basketball Game Preview: Raines Vikings vs. Ribault Trojans

The Raines Vikings will challenge the Ribault Trojans on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Raines is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Yulee as Raines made off with a 72-46 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their two-point performance the contest before.

Raines got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Orianna Freeman out in front who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Darreniza Tobler, who earned 12 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Ribault entered their tilt with Stanton on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They claimed a resounding 66-15 victory over the Blue Devils. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Blue Devils are ranked 405th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ribault has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Raines, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.

Raines was taken down by Ribault 64-36 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ribault's Destiny Donaldson, who dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 11 boards, and ten steals.
