Softball Game Preview: Trinity Trojans vs. Streetsboro Rockets

The Trinity Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Streetsboro Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity has given up an average of 17.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Trinity will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs back in April, then bounced right back against Lawrence Upper back in April. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 27-19 margin over the Lions. Considering the Trojans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Kanora Bryant was incredible, going 3-for-6 with five runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trinity Johnson, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI.

Trinity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Streetsboro never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Crestwood on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Red Devils.

Streetsboro pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Trinity, their record now sits at 2-4.
