Basketball Recap: Scotus Piles Up the Points Against Aquinas

Scotus won the last time they faced Aquinas and things went their way on Thursday too. The Scotus Shamrocks simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Aquinas Monarchs 66-38. The Shamrocks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Aquinas still got an impressive performance from Bryant Stouffer, who went 7 of 14 to rack up 19 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Storm, who posted six points and five boards.

Scotus is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points over those games. As for Aquinas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Scotus will challenge Bishop Neumann at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Aquinas, they will look to defend their home court on February 8th against Lincoln Christian at 3:00 p.m.
