Baseball Recap: Horizon Honors Extends Winning Streak to Five

Horizon Honors waltzed into their match on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 15-9 margin over the Heritage Academy Heroes. Considering the Eagles have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Walker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Horizon Honors let Lucas Holweger and Chase Wilson run wild. Holweger went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Wilson scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most RBI Holweger has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Max Miller, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

Horizon Honors always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .522 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Horizon Honors' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Coming up, Horizon Honors will challenge Lincoln Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Heritage Academy, they will square off against Phoenix Country Day at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
