Basketball Recap: West Port Piles Up the Points Against East Ridge

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Port walked away with it. They breezed by the East Ridge Knights to the tune of 65-36 on Thursday. The Wolf Pack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Calise Smith was a one-woman wrecking crew for West Port as she went 9 of 16 on her way to 24 points and three steals. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Grant, who went 8 for 11 en route to 17 points and six boards.

West Port smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

West Port's record now sits at 16-7. As for East Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-5.

As of now, neither West Port nor East Ridge have any future games scheduled.
