Recap: Estero Wildcats vs. Gateway Charter Griffins
The Estero Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Gateway Charter 37-33. Estero has not had much luck with Gateway Charter recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Gateway Charter was led to victory by Ellie Morin and Jazmyne Trubina. Morin scored ten points, while Trubina scored 16 points.
Estero's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Gateway Charter, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3-1.
Estero's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cypress Lake at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Cypress Lake is ranked 305th, while Estero is ranked 310th). As for Gateway Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ida Baker at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Ida Baker focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
