Basketball Game Preview: Pelham Pythons vs. Pembroke Spartans

The Pelham Pythons are taking a road trip to face off against the Pembroke Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pelham is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 67 points back in December of 2024, they were much more limited against Sanborn Regional on Friday. They had to suffer through a 48-18 loss at the hands of the Indians. The loss was the Pythons' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Pembroke was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Stark 57-27. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 26 points or more this season.

Pembroke has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29 points. As for Pelham, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1.

Things could have been worse for Pelham, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-53 loss to Pembroke in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Pelham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
