Football Recap: Quentyn Demara's Big Game Can't Quite Lead University City over Scripps Ranch + How To Watch

University City lost against Scripps Ranch back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Centurions lost 45-20 to the Falcons. The Centurions gained 189 more yards on the day, but it was the Falcons that made the best use of them.

Several Centurions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quentyn DeMara, who threw for 392 yards and two TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes. DeMara has become a key player for University City: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 250 passing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Deshaun Hille helped DeMara out on the ground, rushing for 86 yards, while also picking up 70 receiving yards.

Malachi Sayles had a dynamite game For Scripps Ranch., rushing for 132 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Sayles is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 101 every time he's taken the field this season.

University City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Scripps Ranch, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. University City will challenge rival Cathedral Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 938 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch is set to square off against their familiar foe Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
