Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Mt. Pleasant entered their contest against Lufkin on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers fell to the Lufkin Panthers 59-55. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Mt. Pleasant's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-4. As for Lufkin, the win was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-2.

Mt. Pleasant and Lufkin should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Mt. Pleasant (ranked 57th) will meet Whitehouse (ranked 780th) at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lufkin will challenge Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 845 places (20 vs. 865).
