Soccer Game Preview: Mattoon vs. Mahomet-Seymour

Mattoon is 1-9 against Mahomet-Seymour since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Greenwave will head out to take on the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Mattoon didn't have quite enough to beat Urbana University and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Mahomet-Seymour's game on Saturday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Champaign Central by a score of 2-1.

Mahomet-Seymour now has a losing record of 6-7-3. As for Mattoon, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6-2.

Mattoon skirted past Mahomet-Seymour 2-1 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greenwave since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
