Can't Touch This
North Point got a 38 - 22 win over Broadneck last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jemichael Jones. Jones ran for 271 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Jones as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between St. John's (1st in the power rankings) and Gonzaga (6th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. St. John's blew past Gonzaga 30 - 7. St. John's was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Brooke Point this week as the team hoisted itself up nine places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It came out on top in a nail-biter against North Stafford, sneaking past 22 - 20. Brooke Point and North Stafford were a much more even match than Brooke Point's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
No Stoppin 'Em
73. That was the combined point total for Freedom and Hylton when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. Hylton scooted by Freedom with a score of 45 - 28. The win boosted Hylton a satisfying seven spots in the power rankings.
