Basketball Recap: Caldwell Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

The matchup between Caldwell and Mountain Home on Monday hardly resembled the 35-27 effort from their previous meeting. The stars were shining brightly for the Caldwell Cougars in a 61-45 victory over the Mountain Home Tigers. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The win was the third in a row for Caldwell, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Mountain Home, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Caldwell won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mountain View at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62 points per game this season. As for Mountain Home, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wood River at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
