Basketball Game Preview: Beardstown Tigers vs. Pittsfield Saukees

The Beardstown Tigers will head out to take on the Pittsfield Saukees at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Beardstown's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matches, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Beardstown challenged Hamilton on Monday. Beardstown came up short against Hamilton, falling 49-25. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Cardinals are ranked 138th).

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pittsfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Athens out 52-49.

Beardstown's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Pittsfield, their record now sits at 18-2.

Beardstown was taken down by Pittsfield 54-25 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can Beardstown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
