Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Decatur walked away with it. They blew past Carter-Riverside 14-3 on Thursday. Decatur might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Decatur got a massive performance out of Jed Ross, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Decatur is undefeated when Ross posts two or more runs, but 10-15-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Kelley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Decatur was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Decatur's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-15-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Carter-Riverside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Decatur beat Carter-Riverside by a score of 13-0 later that day.
