Baseball Game Preview: Dixie Heights Colonels vs. Western Brown Broncos

The Dixie Heights Colonels will take on the Western Brown Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Dixie Heights fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Ryle on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 8-6. The Colonels have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Owen Stulz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Steczynski, who went 2-for-5 with three runs.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Western Brown and Goshen meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Broncos walked away with a 7-3 win over the Warriors.

Western Brown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Weber, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Dixie Heights' loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for Western Brown, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
