Baseball Game Preview: El Dorado Aztecs vs. Parkland Matadors

For the second straight game, El Dorado will face off against Parkland. The Aztecs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Matadors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Monday, El Dorado made easy work of Parkland and carried off a 14-1 victory. The Aztecs have beaten the Matadors the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Matadors has come to flipping the script.

Espen French looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because El Dorado is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-14 otherwise.

At the plate, Christian Diaz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Elijah Issa was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

El Dorado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

El Dorado's win bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Parkland, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15-1.
