Loyola Academy extended the longest winning streak in Chicago Catholic - Blue this week by beating Mount Carmel, 30-27. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
St. Rita took down Hales Franciscan 45-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tim Lombard ran for 81 yards and caught two passes for six yards in the win.
Loyola Academy's dynamic duo of Peter Pujals and Luke Ford proved tough for the Caravan to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pujals threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns and Ford had 80 yards receiving. Richard Wehman helped Loyola Academy's passing attack out by catching eight balls for 75 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Pujals of John Holecek's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1080. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, the Mustangs' Derrick Miles has rushed for 351 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Julian Crum. The St. Rita star has 24 catches for 297 yards.
The Ramblers and Mount Carmel played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Ramblers eventually emerging with a 30-27 victory. Pujals ran for 11 yards in the win.
