Game recap: Monrovia High School Football Team tops Viewpoint

After taking the lead on a Blake Heyworth touchdown pass to Anthony Craft in the first quarter, Monrovia (Calif.) led 36-0 at the half.

The Wildcats expanded their lead to 50 points entering the fourth quarter. Monrovia scored two times in the third, including once on a Heyworth touchdown pass to Ge Vontray Ainsworth.

With the win MHS extended its winning streak to seven games. The Wildcats defeated the Rams 35-14 last week.

Monrovia had given up an average of 14.6 points prior to the contest. The zero points that Viewpoint (Calabasas, Calif.) ended with were well below its average of 29.6 coming into the game.

The defeat comes as a step back for Viewpoint, which notched a 50-14 victory over Kilpatrick in its previous outing. The loss snapped the Patriots' 3-game winning streak.
