Amarillo waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Coronado Mustangs by a score of 43-31. Given the Sandies' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 760th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

As for Coronado, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lubbock-Cooper at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado is facing Lubbock-Cooper at the right time seeing as Lubbock-Cooper is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
