Baseball Game Preview: Mount Anthony Patriots vs. Taconic Thunder

The Mount Anthony Patriots will square off against the Taconic Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Anthony's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Taconic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mount Anthony is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Burlington on Saturday. They fell just short of the Seahorses by a score of 2-1.

Mount Anthony saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacoby Dicranian, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those stolen bases were Dicranian's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Taconic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Terriers.

Taconic's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Mount Anthony, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
