The Hanford Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the Moses Lake Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hanford's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Pasco 22-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Alanah Eagleheart made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jadyn Owens was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Breelynne Harding was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Hanford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .886. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Moses Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Davis on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mavericks needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Paige Richardson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Richardson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Moses Lake let Hayden Morris and Caitlin Decubber run wild. Morris went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Decubber went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Amilia Borchert also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Hanford's record is now 15-4. As for Moses Lake, their record now sits at 9-4.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hanford hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. However, it's not like Moses Lake struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
