Basketball Game Preview: Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks vs. Hampton Roads Academy Navigators

The Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks will take on the Hampton Roads Academy Navigators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norfolk Collegiate has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, Norfolk Collegiate came up short against Veritas Collegiate Academy and fell 80-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (56), the Mighty Oaks still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hampton Roads Academy). They were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over Walsingham Academy on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Navigators considering their 29-point performance the contest before.

Norfolk Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Hampton Roads Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Norfolk Collegiate against Hampton Roads Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 78-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Norfolk Collegiate since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
