Cherokee Trail had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Lakewood on Saturday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Tigers. Considering Cherokee Trail have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Lakewood with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sam Garofalo, Makayla Sellyei, Gianna Mathenge, and Dulcie Bryant.

The victory (which was Cherokee Trail's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four games. As for Lakewood, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-11-1.

Looking ahead, Cherokee Trail will challenge Grandview at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakewood, they will square off against Chatfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
