Recap: Arcadia Redskins vs. Vanlue Wildcats
The Arcadia Redskins fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 63-33 win over Vanlue. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for Arcadia this season.
Despite the defeat, Vanlue saw an underclassman step up: Owen Roszman almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 60.6% of Vanlue's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Wallen, who scored two points along with two steals and two blocks.
Arcadia's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13. As for Vanlue, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia will take on North Baltimore at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Vanlue, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ridgemont at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The timing isn't great for Vanlue: they have been struggling with eight straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Ridgemont has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
