Softball Recap: Brick Memorial Comes Up Short

Brick Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Manalapan Braves, falling 9-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 11-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Carly Hobbs and Avery Nalducci did some serious damage despite the final result: Hobbs went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Nalducci went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Brick Memorial's record now sits at 4-12. As for Manalapan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brick Memorial will host Central Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Manalapan, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Matawan Regional at 3:45 p.m.
