Luella waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Mt. Zion Bulldogs as they made off with a 21-1 win. Considering the Lions have won four games by more than 19 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Zaena Harris made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a stolen base and an RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kennedy Reliford was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Luella has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Mt. Zion, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-1 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luella will host Upson-Lee at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mt. Zion, they will challenge Douglass at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Zion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 19 runs per game this season.
