Wellington School waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 27-26 W against the Independence 76ers.

Wellington School's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elodie Ware, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Ware a new career-high in blocks (eight). Another player making a difference was Dea Singh, who posted eight points and four steals.

Wellington School pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points over those games. As for Independence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Wellington School and Independence are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Wellington School will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Independence, they are taking a road trip to take on Linden-McKinley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
