Baseball Game Preview: Dora Coyotes vs. Grady Bronchos

The Dora Coyotes will be taking part in a tournament against the Grady Bronchos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Dora picked up another tournament win on Friday. They blew past Thoreau 28-10.

Trevin Niece was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Niece was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Dora let Ashton Davis and Isaac Jasso run wild. Davis scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Jasso scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Those five runs gave Davis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Kircher, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Grady made easy work of Estancia on Friday and carried off a 14-4 win.

Grady now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Dora, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Dora came up short against Grady in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 9-6. Can Dora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
